rhs chelsea flower show 2007 - roof garden
crowe garden design worked in association with Bespoke Gardens and Sheila Hassock Garden Design exhibiting an award winning show garden for the first time at the RHS Chelsea flower show in May 2007.
Awarded silver-gilt (or gold minus!) this was a tremendous success and justly merited the extraordinary amount of hard work and effort required to stage a show garden at an RHS flower show.
The Sun Chariot roof garden design took it's theme from Scandanavia and the bespoke Sun Chariot, hand made in oak, was the central piece. It was automated on a turntable to be able to move to create privacy and shade or maximise the sun or shade.
The interest in the roof garden was immense and the bespoke furniture range is being developed further.
Royal Hospital Chelsea Pensioners enjoyed a sneak preview of the functionality of the award winning garden on Press day. Designed for the sun, a chic and urban roof garden.
During the show the artist Flavia Stone, daughter of the royal portrait artist, Richard Stone, painted two botanical plant portraits of the Iris 'Jane Phillips' and Sisyrinchium striatum.
