the designer
adrian crowe (dip gd pickard / anc hort. landscape & garden design)
"Adrian's lifelong passion for gardens and landscape design has led ineluctably towards the profession of garden design. Worldwide travel coupled with an intimate knowledge of English landscapes and gardens have informed and inspired his gardens, culminating in the simple and bold style that is his hallmark.
His instinctive grasp of the essence of a good garden has been complemented over time by an impressive collection of qualifications and awards: landscape and garden design studies at
Otley college (Suffolk), Garden Design Diploma from the
Pickard School of Garden Design in London,
medals including a number of Golds in successive years at shows ranging from the local to the international RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Adrian is known to many in the profession as the man with the little black book. Never seen without it, he records in it every possible influence, intention, idea and inspiration, later converting and incorporating the best ideas in his commercial and exhibition gardens. This restless, questing and inquisitive approach to every aspect of outdoor design has honed and refined his notion of the gardens he is striving to create for his clients - gardens that possess a bold underlying simplicity and practicality. Designing modern and contemporary gardens and the landscape with attention to detail and quality is his passion.
Adrian is currently a member of the Royal Horticultural Society, the Woodland Trust and previously a correspondent member of the Society of Garden Designers (now a 'Friend') amongst many other varied organisations. He lives with his family outside Colchester in Essex."
